The leadership of the District 1199C Training and Upgrading Fund is committed to education as a vehicle for providing healthcare and human service workers with the opportunities to advance into better jobs and is proud to support the work of the Training Fund staff and students.
The Training Fund offers a number of educational benefits to members belonging to an institution that pays into the Training and Upgrading Fund. Among these benefits are Tuition Reimbursement, a Full-Time Scholarship Program, and a Continuing Education Program.
Tuition Reimbursement
Members covered by the Training Fund are entitled to tuition reimbursement after six months of employment. Fulltime members may receive up to $5,000.00 per year for approved college courses, vocational courses, workshop and seminars.
Full-Time Scholarship Program

Union Plus National Labor College Scholarship
With the National Labor College (NLC) at the George Meany Campus in Silver Spring, MD, America’s unions have their own college.
Each year a total of $25,000 is awarded to eligible student through the new Union Plus National Labor College Scholarship. The NLC typically award roughly 12 recipients with financial need every quarter.
